How do you you know you live in a small New England town? Check out the library!

When the Flint Memorial Library 2014 Fall fundraiser is entittled "Win a snowblower!"   You have to love New Englander's - they are a practical bunch and we know our snow!

Now that the new year has arrived the library is kicking off another New England weather appropriate activity.


Starting Tuesday, January 27th - at the Flint Memorial Library at 7 p.m. - library patrons are invited to join the


                                                      "15 in 15 Challenge."

This is year-long adult reading program designed to challe nge yourself and your neighbors to read or listen to 15 books in 2015.

Read any book, in any genre, in any format!

Top kick off the program, the library is hostoing a Random House Penguin representative who will share the hottest books yet to be released and you might walk away with an advanced reader’s book copy for yourself.

Martin's Pond- Terrific Family Resource

Located just off of North Main Street on the West side - Martin's Pond and Clarke Park are popular community resources for North Reading.    The shallow pond was formed 11,000 years ago by a glacier and encompasses 92 acres of fresh water and the deepest point is just about 7 feet.

Clarke Park sits on the shore of the pond and features a playground and a beach and hosts numerous communtiies activities throughout the year including the Haunted Halloween Playground and a Bass Fishing Tournment.

While Martin's Pond is a "back yard" for some 100 homes, all North Reading residents can easily enjoy year roud fun wiht friends and neighbors ranging from picnicing, volleyball, fishing and ice fishing, canoeing, musical events.
